20th BilRess web seminar: Resource-conscious use of clothing and shoes
The 17th BilRess Network Conference took place in mid-September 2022 in cooperation with the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy gGmbH and the Technical University of Central Hesse.
How we extract, process and recycle raw materials efficiently and sustainably presents us with major global challenges. There is an increasing focus on the use of raw materials in global value chains. This is why this BilRess network conference was dedicated to the question: "How can resource literacy for raw material use in global value chains be taught in the various educational sectors?
In addition to central results from the research project, materials from the context of "global learning" were examined more closely and references to the new supply chain law were made. Various questions were discussed during the conference:
- How can resource awareness and competence for the use of raw materials in global value chains be (further) developed and promoted in all educational sectors? What good examples already exist?
- What points of contact exist in the various educational institutions (school, university, training and further education)?
- How must modules, courses, curricula, teaching-learning arrangements etc. be designed to sharpen the view of global value chains?
- In which global education projects are the described aspects of the use of raw materials in global value chains addressed?
The network conference presents good didactics and practice, experiences, needs and wishes in the education sectors of school, training, higher education and further education. The speakers come from the fields of politics, education, business and civil society and present their offers and educational materials. You are also cordially invited to present your projects.
