Dialogue event with State Secretary Michael Kellner
On Thursday, 20 June 2024, a dialogue event took place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the ballroom of the old town hall in Fürstenwalde/Spree: Together with the Oderland-Spree Regional Planning Association, the EmPowerPlan project team invited regional stakeholders to reflect on their experiences of using the interactive project tool to date and the opportunities for its use locally. The event was attended by State Secretary Michael Kellner from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection as well as representatives of the regional planning community and the Oderland-Spree region.
The perspectives of the federal policy goals and the regional implementation of the energy transition were discussed and linked in a large group. The regional stakeholders also reported on their experiences with the tool and on specific challenges for regional planning - e.g. with regard to the municipalities - at federal level.
The aim of the event was to get closer to the expansion targets of the federal and state governments and to utilise the potential of renewable systems in local planning while keeping nature conservation areas, residential areas and agriculture in mind.
