Evaluation

Method description
Evaluation is a process through which the achievement of objectives, effects and efficiency of measures and institutions are analysed and assessed as systematically and objectively as possible. In addition to the intended and unintended, direct and indirect effects, human, financial and other resources, the time frame as well as administrative and organisational aspects are also included in the assessment. The IZT carries out evaluations on behalf of federal and state ministries. The focus is on funding programmes and institutions related to energy efficiency and climate protection. However, the range of topics is diverse and also includes, for example, the evaluation of the Consumer Information Act. The IZT is recognised in the field of efficiency studies in accordance with Section 7 of the Federal Budget Code.
