Impact and resilience analyses
Futurology and Technology Assessment
Method description
Impact and resilience analyses are key methods for assessing the resilience of systems to external influences and crises. Impact analyses examine the potential effects of specific developments or stress factors on material resources, infrastructure and processes. Resilience analyses, on the other hand, focus on the ability of a system to recover from and adapt to these influences. Our "transformative resilience" approach makes it possible to align resilience policy with explicit positive design goals in order to integrate both sustainability aspects and the capacity for systematic change in areas that have so far received less attention. At the same time, this approach can help to make policy areas that are geared towards change more resilient.
