Environment and scenario analysis: The future of the global motorbike market in 2030
The project developed various future scenarios of the global motorbike markets until 2030.
Mobility markets are undergoing profound change, which is also affecting motorbike markets. In a project by ScMI Scenario Management International AG and the IZT, various future scenarios of the global motorbike markets were developed. The defining trends include above all digitalisation, but also changing requirements in the areas of environment and safety. New design possibilities are offered, for example, by weather and curve control systems, but also by networked communications with other road users. Political demands for a reduction in emissions from all modes of transport could also support the electrification of the drive systems of motorbikes as well. The client, BMW Motorrad, was and is the only large-series manufacturer of high-displacement motorbikes in Germany.
