The agricultural and food systems in Germany must be further developed in such a way that they simultaneously take into account the challenges of the agricultural and food sector as well as environmental and resource protection. Such a major task can only be accomplished together with practitioners. This is why the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), together with the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV), has launched the "Dialogue Network for Sustainable Agriculture" as a new form of participatory culture. The aim of the dialogue network is to incorporate practical knowledge into the work of the two federal ministries at an early stage.

The dialogue network includes practitioners from the agricultural sector and nature conservation. It provides a framework for discussing important future issues in various formats and jointly developing recommendations for action. The IZT evaluates the

implementation structures and processes of the dialogue network and develops recommendations for the further implementation, further development and transferability of the dialogue network.
