This project focussed on the question of the extent to which private and public technology funding could complement and support each other. Following a comprehensive analysis of existing funding mechanisms in Europe and among its main competitors, those mechanisms were identified and analysed in more detail which appeared particularly promising in terms of effectiveness and efficiency for a broader Europe-wide application.

The focus of the IZT's work was on categorising and analysing current and future particularly environmentally friendly technologies and the public funding mechanisms available for them. The results of this analysis were validated at several stakeholder workshops.
