The topic of "health apps" was much discussed in 2016 and is of great importance both for the individual and for politics. This is because the increased performance of mobile devices and data networks means that more and more qualified health data can be collected and analysed via health apps. The key questions of the IZT's innovation analysis included What opportunities, but also risks, arise from the widespread use of health apps? How are health apps legally categorised and evaluated, what legal questions remain unanswered? What political options for action arise from the findings? The IZT conducted an online survey on "health apps" from 15 September 2016. The results of the survey and the innovation analysis were published by the TAB in 2018.
