Handbook on the inter- and transdisciplinary integration of humanities, social and cultural sciences (GSK) in research projects at the Viennese Universities of Applied Sciences
The IZT developed a handbook for the City of Vienna that supports resident universities in integrating the humanities, social sciences and cultural studies into their research projects. This can lead to innovations that can be integrated into existing socio-cultural practices.
In a complex, interconnected world, challenges and problems can be solved less and less by isolated individual sciences. For this reason, the City of Vienna's Magistrate 23 commissioned the IZT to produce a handbook to help Vienna's universities of applied sciences integrate the humanities, social sciences and cultural studies more closely into their research projects. The two IZT authors developed the handbook in dialogue with national education experts and in transdisciplinary cooperation with the addressed Viennese universities of applied sciences. In Vienna, technical, natural and economic sciences - supported by the handbook - should now design innovations in such a way that they are not only socially accepted but also integrated into existing socio-cultural practices.
