Abstract

In 2008, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched the "Energy-efficient city" competition, which honoured the cities of Delitzsch, Essen, Magdeburg, Stuttgart and Wolfhagen in 2011. They are realising their concepts together with partners from science and practice. This series of publications documents the approaches and results.
This seventh volume focusses on the possibilities of innovative services for implementing the "energy-efficient city". Based on the findings of service research, current practical examples and experiences from all the competition cities are presented. Taken as a whole, they show concrete starting points in various fields of action for municipalities of all sizes and shed light on the associated challenges.
