Abstract

Through comprehensive acquisition and processing of data and boundary conditions, this study is to define the structural preconditions, aims and possibilities of implementation for the establishment of decentralised power supply systems and services in the framework of Brandenburg energy policy. The following aims are given in detail: - An inventory of the energy supply structure in the Brandenburg area; - A rough assessment of the structure of energy use; - Description of the present situation of newly established municipal power supply systems; - Investigation of potential energy saving (by the producers and the consumers); - Investigation into potential reduction of emissions. Beyond the acquisition and processing of data from questionnaires and bibliographic searches preliminary ideas for evaluating the situation and recommendations for the course of action are formulated, and the needs for further research are pointed out. (orig.)In the present study, a differentiated collection and processing of data and framework conditions is used to provide the structural prerequisites, the objectives and the implementation possibilities for the development of decentralised energy supply and service structures in the energy policy of the federal state of Brandenburg. The following objectives are pursued in detail: - To take stock of the energy supply structure in the state of Brandenburg; - To determine the rough structure of energy consumption; - To describe the current situation with regard to the establishment of municipal utilities; - To determine potential energy savings (on the producer and consumer side); - To determine potential emission reductions. In addition to the collection and processing of the data obtained from questionnaires and research, initial approaches for the evaluation of the situation and recommendations for action are formulated and further research needs are identified.
