Abstract

In 2008, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched the "Energy-efficient city" competition, which honoured the cities of Delitzsch, Essen, Magdeburg, Stuttgart and Wolfhagen in 2011. They are realising their concepts together with partners from science and practice. This series of publications documents the approaches and results.
This eighth volume presents the results of the competition in context. Experiences are systematically presented and analysed in the context of the joint projects. The synthesis of the results illustrates the different strategies, concepts and measures for the continuation of the urban projects as well as cross-sectional analyses by the accompanying research. In addition, the possibilities of transferability of individual measures to other cities are described from different perspectives.
