Abstract

The book deals with the topics of sustainability and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Although the latter were already adopted in 2015 and implementation is to be completed by 2030, there is currently still a lack of initiatives that have the Sustainability Goals as their topic. The book initiates a discussion on how the topic of sustainability can be introduced and dealt with holistically in teaching, research, business and society. A variety of different disciplines, from social and economic sciences to fashion, art and environmental sciences to linguistics and media studies, contribute to the work. The book focuses on the ways and means by which the engagement of higher education institutions and non-governmental organisations is brought together in the global effort to implement the Sustainable Development Goals. The volume brings together many experiences and case studies that contribute to the further development of the topic "Implementation of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)". The editor, Professor Walter Leal Filho, is head of the Research and Transfer Centre Sustainability and Climate Impact Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg.
