Design and mobility
Abstract
The future of mobility is a much-discussed topic: Will there soon be life without cars? Or are we congesting ourselves to a standstill? And will we promptly find a design solution for the mobility of tomorrow? This book examines the current and future approaches to being mobile from different perspectives. Experts such as Michael Erlhoff , Stephan Rammler, Alan Shapiro and others describe future mobility from their point of view. The symposium "How will we be moved?", organised by Sabine Foraita and Andreas Schulz, was the starting point for this book and took place on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the cordless race at the Faculty of Design of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HAWK) in Hildesheim. Methods and examples for future scenarios are shown as perspectives from the design context, but also the highlights of the cordless screwdriver races are discussed, where innovative and minimalist ways of being mobile have been practically tested since 2005.
