Life cycle assessment as an instrument for cycle-compatible product design
In: Managing in cycles. Ecological product management
Abstract
The World Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro made it clear that economic activity in cycles is a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable development. The anthropogenically caused high flows of substances, materials and energy and the associated quantities of waste and emissions have long since reached the limits of nature's capacity to bear the burden. It is time to modernise products ecologically and make them recyclable. In this book, representatives from business, society and politics present innovative approaches and new ways for integrative ecological product management.
