Abstract

Via numerous online platforms, private individuals in Germany can share consumer goods and services - from cars to flats to clothing. But is this so-called peer-to-peer sharing sustainable? An ecological assessment shows that sharing only makes ecological sense if the consumption culture as a whole changes.
