Abstract

In this course, the topic of "Biomass CHP plants" is offered in the form of eLearning lessons. These lessons are aimed at building managers from the housing industry and local authorities who manage larger buildings and who want to find out more about biomass and CHP. In six lessons, the basics of CHP technology are described, such as the principle of combined heat and power generation, the energy efficiency of the technology, the different types of CHP units with different biomass fuels, system components and various possible applications of CHP units. Our aim is to provide you with the basic knowledge you need to consider CHP technology as an interesting alternative to conventional heating systems that use fossil fuels inefficiently when installing new systems or modernising existing ones.
