Abstract

In view of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989, renowned personalities illuminate the events of that time and the development from a social, political and economic perspective in approx. 20 contributions. They show what the particular challenges for the decision-makers were, in what overall context they had to be overcome and what lessons can and must be learned from the German unification process for Europe and the world.
