Abstract

The hydrogen car has appeared on the horizon of our mobile society. It is about nothing less than ushering in the post-fossil era in our mobility culture without causing radical economic and social upheavals. For it is also clear that we will neither be able nor willing to give up the car in the future. It is too strongly anchored in our everyday world and our private lives, woven into our spatial, temporal and economic structures, for us to be able to radically change. This volume is intended as a contribution to clarifying the question of whether the hydrogen car is a myth or whether it will continue to develop into a realistic and feasible vision of our mobile society. To this end, scientists from research and practice will shed light on supply-side, demand-side and finally transport and innovation policy aspects of the topic.
