Leisure time with agents, avatars and virtual butlers. A scenario example from participatory futurology
In: Future: Leisure: Science. Commemorative publication for the 65th birthday of Univ. Prof. Dr. Horst W. Opaschowski
Abstract
Never before in the history of mankind has the amount of time spent working - less than 10% - been as low as it is today.
One of the few scientists who recognised the growing influence of leisure time on quality of life and on economic and professional development back in the 1970s is Prof. Dr Horst W. Opaschowski.
His future studies - developed and published together with the B.A.T. Leisure Research Institute - are located in the field of tension between empiricism and social imagination. The articles in this commemorative publication focus on particularly important crystallisation points of the scientific discourse from the broad spectrum of leisure-related challenges of the 21st century.
