Abstract

In wide circles of the population, there is a wide range of potential for environmental commitment in various forms (e.g. for voluntary work, participation in environmental projects or for financial support). How environmental organisations can be enabled and supported to recognise and mobilise this readiness for their everyday work, which can be observed in society, is vividly described here. The study is based on a review of relevant literature, an analysis of good examples from other countries, expert interviews as well as focus groups. The results are presented and numerous suggestions and recommendations for promoting environmental engagement for various key actors are given.
