Abstract

In the publication series "In Motion", Autostadt GmbH, the communication platform of Volkswagen AG, is working together with various publishers on the topic of mobility.
The first volume, "Mobility moves schools", deals with the question of how the multifaceted phenomenon of mobility can be integrated into educational processes.
In the introduction, academics provide a theoretical insight into the complex relationships between mobility, people, society and institutions. Based on the mobility curriculum introduced at schools in Lower Saxony, its conception and implementation, the contributions in the second part discuss ways of integrating the topic into curriculum and school development. Finally, the focus is on the concrete teaching of mobility in schools and extracurricular places of learning as well as ways to formal and non-formal educational arrangements.
