Usage patterns of peer-to-peer sharing platforms
In: Digital Culture of Sharing. Doing business more sustainably with sharing
Abstract
In addition to the question of the spread and potential of peer-to-peer sharing in the population (see chapter 3), the focus is on the current use of selected platforms. For what reasons do people use peer-to-peer sharing? How are sharing services used in different consumption areas and how are they perceived by their users? In order to find answers to these questions, the research project conducted interviews with users of four peer-to-peer sharing platforms in addition to the representative population survey presented above. These are Kleiderkreisel (a platform for clothes sharing), Wimdu (a flat sharing broker), Flinc (a provider of ride-sharing services) and Drivy (a platform for car sharing).
