Abstract

The Corona pandemic and the blockade of the Suez Canal have recently shown us how vulnerable our mobility is to disruptions of various kinds. Against this background, this publication addresses the question of how mobility can be made resilient and sustainable. Based on an analysis of disruptive events and their consequences on transport systems and a case study of changes in passenger and freight transport due to the Corona pandemic, viable resilience strategies are developed. With regard to transport systems, these aim, among other things, at new organisational concepts and the switch to less vulnerable modes of transport. In addition, however, the resilience of society to disruptions in the transport system must also be strengthened.
