Solar energy
Abstract
In this online course, we will show you what the power of the sun does on our planet and how we can utilise solar energy.
Do you know where the sun's energy comes from? Have you ever had a sunburn after lying in the sun for too long? We'll tell you all about the sun, our biggest source of energy, in this chapter.
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west every day. It is higher in summer than in winter. It is a huge, glowing ball of gas. Without it, there would be no light, no heat and no life on earth. The sun's energy is generated by burning hydrogen. Sunlight looks white, but is made up of different colours.
We also explain the difference between infrared light and ultraviolet light here. There are certainly a few things you didn't know before.
