Abstract

Futures research, foresight, futures studies, but also technology assessment and trend research are characterised by a research perspective directed towards the future. This results in fundamental peculiarities that need to be taken into account in the design of studies and in practical research work. The authors of the contributions offer guidance and describe the quality criteria and standards that can be used to determine the quality of results and processes in futures research.
