Abstract

The report documents the literature study "Sustainability and Nutrition" conducted by the Institute for Futures Studies and Technology Assessment as part of the first phase of the TA project "Development Trends in Food Supply and Demand and their Consequences" on behalf of the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag. The aim of the report was to present the state of the scientific discourse on sustainability and nutrition. In particular, the aim was to identify open questions and problem areas. In this way, the urgent need for research and action in the field of nutrition was derived from the perspective of sustainability. The method used was the comparative analysis of relevant scientific studies on the topic of sustainability and nutrition. The results of the report, together with other studies and materials, have been condensed by the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag into an overall view of the "Development trends in food supply and demand and their consequences".
