Abstract

The topic of this volume is the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The United Nations (UN) wants to eradicate hunger and extreme poverty around the world within the next 15 years. The implementation of the SDGs requires concrete approaches that lead to the results of research and teaching on, for and about sustainability, among other things, contributing to the implementation of the SDGs. There is a need for more innovation in sustainability research. This book has two aims: To disseminate information on ongoing research projects and results in the field of sustainability and to facilitate the exchange of experiences and information between researchers/teachers and scientists from universities, research centres, companies and other institutions. The book presents state-of-the-art projects and initiatives in the field of research for sustainability in Germany as well as innovative teaching and research approaches.
