Telework, teleservices and teleservice centres as an opportunity for active labour market policy in Brandenburg
Abstract
The report presents the results of the cross-project accompanying research of 16 Brandenburg projects in the fields of telecooperation, telework and teleservices. The Brandenburg Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs commissioned the report in 1998 and 1999. The projects were ESF-funded qualification and business start-up projects whose common goal was to create new and innovative jobs in the region or to secure existing ones. In addition to the results of the cross-project evaluation, the assessment of the programme implementation and the assessment of the scientific and advisory accompanying measure itself, detailed descriptions of the project approaches and the documentation of a future workshop on the future of teleservices in Brandenburg are presented. The projects are assessed, among other things, according to their achievement of objectives with regard to qualification, business start-ups and job creation. The role of cross-sectoral cooperation and the telecooperation technology used is examined. Pragmatic and political recommendations for action are formulated.
