Abstract

The way we produce and consume in the western industrialised countries is not sustainable. Careful and efficient use of natural resources is one of the central challenges to be mastered on the way to a more sustainable social development. Such a form of resource use requires corresponding resource competencies, which should be taught and learned in all areas of education - school education, training, higher education and further education*. The brochure "The BilRess Roadmap. Anchoring resource conservation and resource efficiency in the German education system - interim report on a roadmap spanning all educational sectors" aims to make an important contribution to this. It shows goals and activities as well as results that are relevant for all educational sectors when it comes to advancing the (structural) anchoring of the topic of resource conservation and resource efficiency in the educational sectors and promoting resource competence. The presented cross-education sector roadmap reflects an interim status, which we would like to present to a broad public for discussion on the occasion of the BilRess conference on 22 and 23 September 2015 in Berlin. It was developed within the framework of the BilRess project with the participation of numerous experts. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the experts** who supported us in the course of the project through interviews, focus groups, workshops and the BilRess network meetings and thus contributed to the current status of the brochure. In particular, we would like to thank the BilRess Advisory Board, whose members have been very actively involved in all phases of the project far beyond the Advisory Board meetings and have contributed their expertise on many occasions.
