The reinvention of mobility. Mobility as world design
In: Figure of Motion. Figure of Motion
Abstract
Movement is both elementary and fleeting; it is a fundamental prerequisite for survival and for our culture. Movement is the functional basis for the discovery, measurement and exploration of our living environment. Explaining and calculating movement are central questions of our culture, which is based on movement and shapes it, and which is based on a history of dynamics and acceleration. In this volume, representatives of various disciplines - from architecture to automobile design - shed light on the representation of movement in art, architecture, design, everyday life, dance and technology. It not only traces historical developments, but also reveals often surprising cross-border connections and discusses current trends.
