Abstract

The special feature of transport policy is that, with its cross-cutting theme of transport, it extends into many other areas of society and, conversely, is also influenced by them. Accordingly, this volume brings together experts from a wide range of disciplines, each of whom addresses different dimensions of the transport issue. The aim is to present the complex interplay of transport and to convey a feeling for the possibilities and limits of transport policy design. Scientific transport policy is the domain of economics. Until now, there has been no introduction to the policy field of transport that follows an interdisciplinary approach and can also be used by people outside the subject and students of neighbouring disciplines without prior knowledge. For the first time, this volume offers a generally understandable introduction to scientific transport policy, which is designed to be interdisciplinary and in particular an offer for students.
